Forest Hills is a community in the central part of the New York City borough of Queens. It is bounded to the north by Rego Park and Corona, east of Flushing Meadows Park, the Grand Central Parkway, and Kew Gardens, west of Middle Village and Glendale, and south of Forest Park. The neighborhood is bordered with zip code 11375, and belongs to the Queens Community Board 6. Forest Hill is a place of combined middle to upper-class people which is currently settled in the famous Forest Hills Gardens area. In the ancient times Forest Hills is a former place of a large Jewish population, which consists of almost ten churches situated in the area, involves The Reform Temple of Forest Hills which is the biggest progressive gathering in Queens. The neighborhood of Forest Hills was established in 1906, formerly known as Whitepot, In the following 3 years Ms Margaret Olivia Slocum Sage, who established the Russell Sage Foundation, purchased 142 acres of land came from the Cord Meyer Development Company. The main plan was to create good low-income house and develop lifestyle conditions of the working poor. A famous architect which is Grosvenor Atterbury was assigned for a task to design Forest Hills Gardens. Forest Hill was planned on the design of the garden communities of England. There are some Tudor-style houses in Forest Hills, almost of them are situated in Forest Hills Gardens. Though there are presently a number of Tudor hoses in certain areas of Forest Hills away from the Gardens.
