Clifton Park

Located at the County of Saratoga, New York is the town of Clifton Park which has an estimated population of 36,447 according to the year 2006 census. The town’s name was taken from the original land official document. It is situated on the southern portion of the county and is roughly 12 miles north of the capital of New York which is Albany and northeast of Schenectady City, and is 10 miles south of the Spring of Saratoga. The original community in what is now known as Clifton Park was founded during the 17the century. The name of the region was given by Nanning Harmansen in the year 1707. When Harmansen posted letters to Lord Cornbury for the patent of land he purchased from the Natives called Shenendehowa he specified that he wanted the official document or the Patent to be known by "Your name of Cliftons Park". It was allowed and so the patent got its name the Clifton Park Patent. Base on the census, the Town of Clifton Park is measured to have a total area of 50.2 square miles where 48.6 square miles is compose of land and the remaining 1.6 square miles is compose of water. The education of the town is served by the Shenendehowa Central School District which covers most part of the Clifton Park and is situated on New York Route 146. A lot of youth activities are also available in this town including football, baseball, lacrosse, soccer, basketball, wrestling and hockey.
