Henrietta

Henrietta is a community that is part of the County of Monroe, New York and is a hamlet on the south portion of Rochester City. It is populated with about 39,028 residents according to the year 2000 statistics and is composed of various races including White, Pacific Islander, Native American, African American, Asian, and Hispanic or Latino. The town of Henrietta was founded in the year 1818 and was named after the Countess of Bath, Henrietta Laura Pulteney who was the daughter of a chief British financier Sir William Pulteney, 5th Baronet. The Genesee River outlines the western portion of the town while the Town of Chili is located in the west part of the River of Genesee. The community of Henrietta is bordered by several towns. Brighton Town is on its northern side, PittsfordADT Security Services, Diamong Packaging, United States Postal Service, UBC Manufacturing, and Sutherland Global Services is also situated within the community. The area is being served by the Rush-Henrietta Central School District to its east, and the town of Rush to its southern part. Base on the census, the community is measured to have a total area of 35.6 square miles where 35.4 square miles is composed of land and the remaining 0.2 square miles is composed of water. Business such as and has a university, which is the Rochester Institute of Technology.
