Latham

Latham is a small village in Albany County, New York, United States. The area is placed within the U.S. Route 9 in the Colonie Town, a compressed village in the north as well as west of Albany. Latham’s center latitude is around 42.746N while the longitude is 73.759W. The village is almost mixed with mountainous deciduous also evergreen large plant including streams of water, swamps, and lot of millponds and some various coated water trails as well as the New York state Wetlands. The streams in the east region of Route 9 and Old Loudon Road are mainly fall down in the Mohawk River. Latham and its neighborhoods are resolved by the Dutch in the ancient 17th century. The area is called for many various names in its history in 1829 the village is called Yearley’s, in 1851 is Van Vranken’s, in 1866 is Town House Corners and later became Latham Corner during William G. Latham owns the Hotel. The “corner” in Latham Corner is now the crossing of Old Loudon Railway and Troy-Schenectady Railway or NY Track 2. The Old Loudon Road was established in 1755 when the French and Indian War brought troops and accompany the Albany to the place of Lake George also Ticonderoga. The Toll track of Troy also Schenectady are constructed before 1810 and crossed the Old Loudon. The first person resided in the area is Jonas Yearsley in 1785 and lately constructed the first hotel near to this crossing. His child also helps the hotel businesses. The area is famous from the name of the corners as well as years after Van Vrankens Corners in the late 1850s.
